We took off from Torrance, Ca from Ginger’s house at about 8:30 this morning and went over to Carl’s Jr. again for breakfast. Then leaving about 10:30 after some morning goodbyes and pictures.

On the way we got off the road onto the route 66 highway that parallels Highway 40 most of our trip. We were looking for some old signs of the route that was used in the early years of motoring across the states from Ohio to LA. We found this cool paint job on the road and took time to get our picture.

We traveled the main highway making just a few stops for quick breaks while the car gets about 25MPG.

We got checked into our Holiday Inn hotel here in Williams, AZ. The hotel has a indoor pool and we used the hot tub to ease away most of the road tension.

Tomorrow we’re off to the Grand Canyon via the Grand Canyon Railway which we found out about just after we got here.
